Meet our 2025 Project :
The informational world of healthcare services, technology, and professional practice that we are immersed in is overwhelmingly complex and fast-changing. There is an increasing need for real-time, peer-to-peer discussions and consultations that go beyond what we can cover in short WhatsApp chats, educational webinars, bi-annual conferences, or journal articles that are locked behind expensive pay-walls. Artificial Intelligence and social media are amplifying the possibilities for both positive and negative outcomes from uncertain information sources that appear on a daily basis.
The IFMBE – Clinical Engineering Division is happy to announce the first satege of the Clinical and Biomedical Engineers Working Groups. We will be offering Zoom meetings for 12 Working Groups that will encompass a broad range of professional interests and concerns. Each session will be 60 minutes long and will be scheduled to provide maximum access for a global audience. The meeting agendas will be set by the group members to reflect their needs and interests.
Consider joining one or more working groups that align with your interests. By committing to attend the scheduled meetings, you will not only enhance your understanding of the topics discussed but also contribute to the collaborative efforts of the group. Active participation is essential for the development of these groups, as your insights and engagement will help foster a dynamic and productive environment. Embrace this opportunity to connect with others, share ideas, and work together towards common goals.
Working Groups for Clinical Engineering
- Each Working Group will have its own Dropbox folder to store agendas, notes, and meeting recordings.
- If you’re an experienced facilitator and are interested in facilitating one of the groups, please notify Fabiola Martinez at [email protected] or Fred Hosea at [email protected]
- At the end of the 3-month experiment, we’ll evaluate the relevance and usefulness of the groups and make recommended adjustments to make sure they serve our professional goals and interests.
Moving Forward: the WICE Survey
We are excited to announce the release of the Women in Clinical Engineering (WICE) survey, a vital initiative aimed at understanding the experiences and challenges women face in clinical engineering. This survey seeks to gather insights that will help us identify areas of growth, support, and opportunity for women professionals in this dynamic industry. We warmly invite all women in clinical engineering, as well as allies and advocates, to participate in this important survey. Your voice matters, and your input will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our profession. Together, we can foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for all. Please take your time to share your experiences and perspectives by participating in the survey. Thank you for your contribution to this essential dialogue!

Thank you!
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the participants who took part in our First Clinical Engineering Hackathon. Your enthusiastic response was overwhelming, with over 50 teams submitting their innovative solutions.
Despite the high volume of submissions, which required us to take additional time to carefully evaluate each entry and assign the challenges accordingly, we are thrilled to share that we received 24 exceptional responses that exceeded our expectations.
As a token of our appreciation, we would like to invite you to participate in the second edition of the Clinical Engineering Hackathon, which will be held in 2025. This event will provide another opportunity for you to showcase your talent, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and make a tangible impact on the healthcare industry.
