Clinical Engineering Outstanding Teamwork Award
Award Description
This award recognizes an individual or a team working in clinical engineering that has fostered and facilitated cooperation within health care to successfully achieve outstanding impact on the clinical engineering field.
Criteria
The nominees should meet the following requirements:
1. Professional Collaboration
- Improved coordination, cooperation, collaboration, and open communication among organizations
- Improved coordination, cooperation, collaboration, and open communication among hospital CE programs, other hospital departments, or health care units
- Improved coordination, cooperation, collaboration, and open communication among the IFMBE CED or similar entities
- Built relationships across different groups of stakeholders within health care to identify and solve problems or reach agreements on a course of action
- Worked effectively as part of a team to successfully accomplish the above goals
- Developed partnerships requiring the input and involvement of those affected by healthcare technology
- Created a team environment that promotes communication, trust, cooperation and increased recognition for clinical engineering practitioners
2. Impact
- Created specific identifiable improvements in patient safety, healthcare technology services efficiency, and quality of technology management programs
- Conducted cross-training programs resulting in growth of practitioner competencies, expansion of job responsibilities and improvement of technical service to customers
- Completed highly important regional or global special projects
- Demonstrated an ability to function and implement in unique (sometimes adverse) circumstances
- Inspired others with their actions, attitude and personality
- Contributed to group efforts which resulted in significant impact on clinical engineering status
- Accepted responsibility and accountability in helping to advance clinical engineering’s mission and/or its recognition and/or its program goals
3. Leading change
- Developed and implemented innovative ideas or suggestions to improve global technology management program methods
- Built an effective team and actively participated in meetings and activities (such as CED and other health care groups) while influencing others to become involved in the clinical engineering field or in clinical engineering projects
- Leveraged the skills and interests of colleagues to achieve goals that solve health care technology-related problems
- Placed team goals above personal goals while achieving exceptional results
- Adjusted their work approach to accommodate the needs and preferences of others and demonstrated understanding of how their actions would affect others
- Looked for ways to help their coworkers and responded positively to requests for assistance by sharing knowledge and experience to help other clinical engineers meet their professional goals
