1. WHO Research and Development Forum

COVID-19 Global Research & Innovation Forum: Meeting Announcement  13 and 14th of May 2021. No registration is required. WHO will provide a live webcast of the Global Research and Innovation Forum. Please note that all meeting participants will be joining this meeting at the following links:

2. Seventy-Fourth World Health Assembly

The WHA74 will take place virtually from 24 May to 1 June 2021, in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. You will be able follow the proceedings on the webcast below. Theme: Ending this pandemic, preventing the next: building together a healthier, safer and fairer world

3. Other Events and Consultations:

WHO is looking for biomedical/clinical/hospital/electrical and mechanical engineers to be consultants in low and middle-income countries.

Requirements: more than 7 years of technical expertise in medical equipment, oxygen supply, or personal protective equipment. Knowledge of facility assessment, procurement, installation, maintenance. “The European Commission is currently holding a month-long online consultation on the English version of the European Medical Device Nomenclature (EMDN)The aim is to collect feedback from users and the wider healthcare community”, by 4 June 2021.

The Global Fund has opened a COVID-19 Response Mechanism to support countries to procure: in vitro Diagnostics, Personal Protective Equipment, and Treatment and Oxygen Equipment.
